First event in the new building of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art
A few weeks ago was the official opening of the beautiful new, expanded building of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. The Herta & Paul Amir Building is designed by Preston Scott Cohen, an architect from Cambridge, Massachusetts. On wednesday, November the 30th. Grand opening of Esther’s Vintage
Susann Zielinski and Suzanne Geschwendtner (film- and stage actresses) will open their Esther’s Vintage shop at Sheikinstreet no.19 (1st. floor) this coming Thursday, October 28th. at 18.30. Esther’s Vintage will present designer vintage clothing, accesories and shoes from local designers, but also from Christian Dior, Chanel, Oscar de La Renta and Calvin Klein. Ram Karmi, the ‘gentleman’ architect
Just watched the Israeli Channel 10 News yesterday with an item about the ‘renovation’ of the once so beautiful Habima Theater, designed in 1935 by Richard Kaufmann. The reporter asked the renovation architect Ram Karmi the following quite relevant questions: “Why was there no public discussion about this renovation-project? Why was there no tender issued to select the architect? Why the budget went from NIS 31 million to NIS160 million? Why are there old components missing? Why the sub-contractor went to court to stop the project? Another ‘Opening’ film night in Levontin 7
For the 6th time now film director Eti Tsicko will organize a ‘short’ film evening on Tuesday, April 27th (22:30) at Levontin 7. The 4 ‘shorts that will be screened are: ‘Wait For Me’, directed by Nimrod Shapira (TAU ); ‘What He Said’, directed by Omer Naot (TAU); ‘A Man Sleeping’, directed by Ophir Ben-Shimon (TAU) and ‘Attias’, directed by Udi Cagan (TAU). ‘Wait For Me’ is the official video clip of Moby’s new song. Dvir Gallery opens new spacious site in Jaffa Port
On Tuesday, September 8th at 18:00 will be the official opening of a new space by the famous Dvir Gallery in the old Jaffa Port (Hangar 2). The opening-solo show will be by the artist Douglas Gordon. This is the 3rd time that Gordon will show his art-work for Dvir Gallery (in 1988 and in 2008). This time at the new space of the gallery, Gordon wil present a selection of the large-scale video projections made for his 2008 retrospective in Avignon, France. The installation is especially adapted to the gallery’s spacious new site. Crowded opening at the Shem Zmani Gallery
Last Friday, August the 21st it was crowded at 12:00 at the opening of the Shem Zmani Gallery were 8 young Israeli artist were showing there unique art-works. Official opening ceremony at Bialik-square
Thursday-evening, April 2nd there were more then 1.000 guests (Corps Diplomatique, mayors from around the world, officials from the muncipalty of Tel Aviv) invited for the official opening of centennial events. The festive was hold in front of the ‘old’ city hall. The building was designed, as a hotel, by Moshe Cherner in 1928, but it became the first city-hall until 1964.
