Guests in the Gallery: six artists from Delft Holland
Our permanent readers will know that we just write about Tel Aviv-Yafo, and Tel Aviv-Yafo only. This time we make an exception: in the city of Kfar-Saba, north of Tel Aviv, an exhibition of 6 artists from Delft, Holland (Netherlands) opened a few days ago. The exhibition is a part of the twin-cities project: Delft-Kfar-Saba, a friendship since 1968 (!). The 6 artist from Delft are: Laura Bakker, Willem van den Hoed, Coen de Jong, Erik … Read entire article »

Last Thursday, June 2nd, 61 Dutch architects and engineers did visit our city Tel Aviv. The 6-days Dutch Architecture Israel Excursion was organized by Ton Voets (Cultuurreizen.tv in Delft, Holland). White bike rental in Tel Aviv
I have been thinking and dreaming about riding a bike in Tel Aviv before, so the decision of the finance committee of the City of Tel Aviv-Yafo to put money in the bike rental system is great news! The first white bike plan ever has been ‘developed’ by students at the end of the sixties in Amsterdam (Ask Frits all about it. He was there! ;-) – ed.) and between then and now there have been several bicycle sharing systems in different countries, the last – Vélib – in Paris, France. They all had their problems, mostly concering vandalism and theft… In Tel Aviv hey will start with 1500 bikes and 150 stations, which will be 5250 bikes and 225 stations in 10 years. I really hope they succeed, because as I said … Read entire article »

White Night at ShenArt
In the charming gallery ShenArt (Frishman 21) Nadia and Stephane had their first White Night. Two month ago they opened the place, arriving from a small, lovely (channeled) town in the Netherlands (Holland), called Haarlem. Nadia makes small exotic sculptures and Stephane is working with vinyl art, putting (for the first time) his art-work on canvases. The lovely couple decided that they would be different from all the art galleries in-and- around Gordon Street. They will have an ‘open‘ gallery, inviting the people to come in, have a chat about art, enjoy a cold beer and they hope to get new ideas (or suggestions) about a new topic for their own artwork. The slogan in ShenArt is: interaction!! The place has to be for everybody who is intested in art: so … Read entire article »

Tel Aviv Fever Self Interview ;-)
You both seem nice guys, so what is this Tel Aviv Fever site about? Frits and I (Ed) had met before, but he was back home (he was born in the Netherlands) last september for the Bauhaus exhibition at Delft University of Technology (TUD). Right then we already had ideas for the Tel Aviv Centennial, and spread them, but didn’t get too much reactions. Only last week we decided to bring you the Tel Aviv Fever website/blog. So you did the trick in a short time? Yes, we started from scratch friday last week. We talked about it in the afternoon and in the evening the website was ‘live’. What is coming? You will see! There is so much to say about Tel Aviv and we love Tel Aviv as much as you do (or even … Read entire article »
