Jerusalem Moments /09 in Tel Aviv
Last Thursday,November the 12th, the Cinematheque Tel Aviv screened the Tel Aviv premiere of Jerusalem Moments/09, a documentary that leaves you speechless, from artistic director Yael Perlov and produced by Yariv Mozer. Jerusalem Moments/09 shows you 7 short documentaries directed by 7 Palestinian and Israeli directors (Momen Shabaneh, Liviu Babic, Sabri Markesto, Avi Goldstein, Yasmine Novak, Radwan Duha and Daniel Gal). The premiere screenig was attended by representatives of the Embassies of Egypt, Finland, Germany, Italy and Australia. Guests of honor were a group youngsters from Ramallah (Westbank) and East, Arab Jerusalem and Ilan de Vries, director of the Jerusalem International Film Festival. Tel Aviv is burning
No, there is no need to call the fire department, but if you have been here in Tel Aviv the last few weeks, you probably have felt that hell came down to visit. This Friday noon I hang out with a friend in Neve Tzedek. I’m used to the fact that in summer there is less traffic (Israeli’s do travel), but both me and my friend were a little surprised to see only a small amount of people in the streets, many of them being French tourists. Even the coffee shops were not very occupied. It seems that we, the rough and tough Israelis were defeated by the sun.
