Tel Aviv, one of the best beach cities in the world

National Geographic yesterday published a list of the world’s 10 best beach cities and rated Tel Aviv alongside Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro, Nice and Cape- Town. The magazine wrote about Tel Aviv: “Call it Miami Beach on the Med. Tel Aviv is the Dionysian counterpart to religious Jerusalem. In the ‘bubble’, as it’s know for its inhabitant’s tendency to tune out regional skirmishes, some disco’s, and clubs are open until dawn. By the day, the scene shifts to the city’s promenade and eight miles (13 kilometers) of beach literally steps from town”. … Read entire article »

JP: Letter with praise from New York

Jerusalem Post, April 28th 2009 Letters: Hurrah for Tel Aviv!! We love Tel Aviv and have to justify that the modern orthodox community we are part of, who think Jerusalem is the one and only city in Israel. As New Yorkers, we especially enjoy Tel Aviv vibe: the art galleries, street live and beaches. We do agree it is a Jewish ‘Little Apple’. But I never like the ‘bubble’ label, as Tel Aviv has been hit with the brutal reality of terror and there are memorials all over the city as reminders. Tel Avivians are just ‘davka’ about enjoying city life, no matter what. They may be different from Jerusalemites – but that’s what makes live interesting.
