Even more bike lanes for Tel Aviv
The Municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo will spent another NIS150 million (30 million euro) in the next five years on building 150 km of new bike-lanes in the city. Fourteen years ago, Tel Aviv did not have even one bicycle path. As for today the city has more then 100 kilometers of paths, trails and lanes. Tel Aviv boutique hotel Center Chic reopened
The Atlas boutique hotel chain has opened the Center Chic Hotel (former Center hotel) following a renovation of around $2.7 million/€ 1,8 million. The hotel situated on Dizengoff Square (entrance: Zamenhoff Street no. 2) includes 54 rooms and an intimate lobby with books, albums and historic films about Tel Aviv. British Airways favours Tel Aviv as destination in campaign
It is not the first time that Tel Aviv is chosen as a favorite destination, but now we are talking about a British Airways campaign to promote the city as one of ten good choices for a city break. We knew that already and telling everyone, but it is never bad to have another telling the same. ;-) The campaign will have ads on the web, in the London underground and some important British newspapers. The Three Routes of Tel Aviv
As the Centennial Year draws to an end, one of its most special projects will be introduced in a weekend of walking tours…the so called Three Routes will be officially inaugurated on October 30th and 31st. The Three Routes are special walking trails which tell the story of the city trough three distinguishing colors: White, Blue and Green. The White Route goes through the White City and historic Tel Aviv. The Blue Route runs along the city’s coastline. The Green Route follows the Yarkon River and Ganei-Yehoshua. Each route includes key stations that highlight important sites and prominent inhibitants. The stations are marked by special solar-tiles (!). Gay tourism comes to Tel Aviv
The Tel Aviv-Yafo Tourism Association, together with Israeli Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Association are to host the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) conference for the first time ever between October 10th and 16th. The event will be attended by the world’s 20 leading travel agents in the field. The week-long tour of the country will offer the visitors an indepth look at Tel Aviv as a gay-friendly city, aiming to get the city marketed as a favoured destination for gay vacation consumers. Air Berlin starting flights to Tel Aviv tomorrow
Air Berlin, the second biggest airline in Germany is starting flights to Tel Aviv from tomorrow. The flights will be two times a week. Not only German flyers will benefit from this, but also from the Netherlands and Belgium.
