Yesterday, the first Tel Aviv Fashion Week (after 30 years) opened with dozens of shows, events and a special guest: the famous Italian designer Roberto Cavalli. The Fashion Week is taking place at the beautifully restored Tachana compound (the old Jaffa trainstation) between Jaffa and Neve-Tsedek. Aluma Klein opened her boutique of the same name in charming Basel Square over a year ago and has since garnered adoring fans like Keren Ann (the celebrated French chanteuse) and collabrations with Batsheva, one of the country’s most distinguished dance companies. You will find hand-dyed French-lace flapper dresses, multi-colored crocheted shawls and fitted, Victorian-inspired overcoats in her finely edited shop.
