The Three Routes of Tel Aviv

As the Centennial Year draws to an end, one of its most special projects will be introduced in a weekend of walking tours…the so called Three Routes will be officially inaugurated on October 30th and 31st. The Three Routes are special walking trails which tell the story of the city trough three distinguishing colors: White, Blue and Green. The White Route goes through the White City and historic Tel Aviv. The Blue Route runs along the city’s coastline. The Green Route follows the Yarkon River and Ganei-Yehoshua. Each route includes key stations that highlight important sites and prominent inhibitants. The stations are marked by special solar-tiles (!). Movie about Tel Aviv at Toronto Festival

Danny Lerner‘s new film: Kirot (“Walls”) will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month. It will be screened in the so called City to City section, that will feature 10 films focusing on the cinema in Tel Aviv in honor of the city’s 100th anniversary. Kirot stars Bond girl Olga Kurylenko and Israeli singer Ninet Tayeb as two woman living across the hall from each other in an old apartment building in Tel Aviv. We are waiting for Spencer Tunick

Spencer Tunick, born on January 1st 1967, is the American ‘nude people installation’ artist with, until now, more then 70 of his art-projects worlwide (Dublin, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Rome, London, Helsinki, Maine, Barcelona, etc.) His art-projects are involving sometimes more then 18.000 nude people. Ari Fruchter, Board member of The Tel Aviv Museum of Art, started a few weeks ago an action (on Facebook) called: ‘Bring Spencer Tunick to Israel’ . He wrote: “Help make history in Israel and prove the sceptics wrong by showing that Israeli’s are open minded and free…” and: “We’re organizing a large scale photo installation in Israel for Spencer Tunick, along with a documentary (‘Naked Israel’) and a museum exhibition.” Yes, let’s prove it!!! On Sunday, June the 21 st you (people in New York and all suburbs and surrounding cities) should come to Central Park at 11.00 a.m. and get a ‘taste‘ of the Tel Aviv beach with sand from our beach, the swinging reggae band Hatikva-6, with DJ Hadar Marks, with the Israeli rockband Flow, beach games (of course our Israeli national beach-sport: ‘Matkot‘) and backgammon games. Entrance is free. News: Arik would like to be there…

Just a few minuts ago, Arik Einstein told Channel 22, that he would like to be at the concert in honor of him on July the 2nd (for his 70th birthday). This was the first (short) interview he gave, after 22 years!! He said he was honored by the tribute concert.
