Tel Aviv to get first anthroposophic school
Tel Aviv will get for the coming school year the first Waldorf school in the country. Until now there were only dozens of antroposophic kindergardens around the country. Antroposophy, based on a spiritual philosophy, was founded in 1912 in Dornach (Switzerland) by Rudolf Steiner. They developed their own forms of architecture and already in the 20s had their own biodynamic agriculture, long before the so-called ‘green’ movements. In the Waldorf education on the schools, world-wide, all forms of art plays an important role. A building in Jaffa, dating from the Ottoman era, is currently undergoing renovation and repair work ahead of the September 1 opening. Dvora Bertonov: Perpetual motion
I did find a lovely article in Haaretz Magazine, last Friday, written by Ruth Eshl about the famous dancer, choreographer, teacher and scholar Dvora Bertonov,who died two weeks ago at the age of 95 in Tel Aviv. Dvora, born in Georgia in 1915, immigrated with her family to Palestine in 1915 and settled in Tel Aviv. The Infected in HaYarkon Park
Yesterday, a bright-sunny morning, was the 2nd day of combat-training of the so called ‘Infected’ (in HaYarkon Park, Tel Aviv) for the post apocalyptic action/horror film: ‘Another World’, directed by Eitan Reuven and produced by Shlomi Aviner and Eitan Reuven (art director: Monique Friedlander). I did find an bunch of young people (cast and crew) full with spirit and soul. It was the first time that some of the ‘Infected’ received their make up and the results were just awesome and…scary!! The shooting of the new feature will start on April 21st and will take place (most of the part) in Hod-Hasharon, a small place, north of Tel-Aviv.
