		<description><![CDATA[Comic book store Comics N&#8217; Vegetables (CNV), did win the prestigious 2011 Will Eisner Spirit of Comics Retailer Award, the third ever store outside North America since 1993. The award is granted to a store that has &#8220;done an outstanding job of supporting the comic art medium in the community and witin the industry at large&#8221;. CNV has done this job in Israel with verve since 2001, first with an online retail website and in 2005 started with a store.
The criteria for judging include:

Support of a wide variety of innovative material. Providing opportunities for creators&#8217; material to reach buyers; stocking a diverse inventory.
Knowledge. Working to stay informed on retailing as well as on the comics field.
Community activity. Promoting comics to the community; maintaining relationships with schools and libraries; keeping active in social, business, and arts community organizations.
Quality of store image. Innovative display approaches; using store design creatively.
Adherence to standard ethical business practices.

		<description><![CDATA[Our permanent readers will know that we just write about Tel Aviv-Yafo, and Tel Aviv-Yafo only. This time we make an exception: in the city of Kfar-Saba, north of Tel Aviv, an exhibition of 6 artists from Delft, Holland (Netherlands) opened a few days ago. The exhibition is a part of the twin-cities project: Delft-Kfar-Saba, a friendship since 1968 (!).
The 6 artist from Delft are: Laura Bakker, Willem van den Hoed, Coen de Jong, Erik van Katwijk, Maaiky Silos and Gonny Stuut.
The official opening took place on Monday, October 31st. in the precence of the Mayor of Kfar Saba: Yehuda Ben-Hamu and the Mayor of Delft Bas Verkerk and a group of 30 citizens from Delft and their guest-families from Kfar Saba.

		<description><![CDATA[Last Thursday-evening 98 minutes documentary The Flat, directed by Arnon Goldfinger received the Award for Best Documentary at the Ophir Awards 2011 (the &#8216;Israeli Oscars&#8217;). It is the story about the grandparents of Arnon, who were living on the 3rd. floor of a Bauhaus building at 31, Gordon Street in Tel Aviv.
Arnon says about his documentary: &#8220;&#8230;My grandparents lived on the 3rd. floor since 1935, when they immigrated to Palestine. The flat was furnished with heavy European pieces, with the best of German literature and laden with layers of dust and history. Objects, pictures, letters and documents awaited us after my grandmother died at the age of 98, revealing the complex lives of my grandparents Gerda and Kurt Tuchler, as well as traces of a troubled and painful past&#8221;.
The film develops into a riveting adventure and even reveals some secrets that should have probably remained untold.

The Slideluck Potshow is a New-York based, non-profit arts organization, that provides an opportunity for artists and art-appreciaters to gather around food, friends and artwork. The event, which began in a Seattle background, over ten years ago, draws now a crowd of a thousand in NYC.
At the Tel Aviv event 20 local and Israeli related artists showed their work for a packed house.
It was also a &#8216;goodbye party&#8217; for American art-installation photographer Spencer Tunick. At the slideshow we saw pictures of his art-shoots around the globe (e.g. the shoot in Amsterdam in 2003). We also saw the first stills of Spencer&#8217;s shoot at the Dead Sea ...]]></description>

Like every year (all night) museums will be open (free of charge), there will be yoga lessons at the &#8216;Chandra Yoga Center&#8217;, lots of music (classic, jazz and rock ), free theater, etc&#8230;etc.

		<description><![CDATA[On June the 16th (20.00) the gala premiere of &#8216;The Queen Has No Crown&#8217;, directed by Tomer Heymann and produced by Tomer and Barak Heymann, will take place in Cinematheque Tel Aviv as a part of the TLVfest 2011.
The documentary, that had its world-premiere at the 61st. Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale 2011), is a personal story about his family, his strong mother, his father who divorced after 33 years of marriage and his four brothers (three of them left for the USA).
Tomer combines in his documentary 8 and 16 mm footage with his own work of a decade.
After the screening of the documentary, there will be a special Q&#38;A-session with Noa Heymann, the mother of Tomer  and with: Noga Heymann, Tomer&#8217;s niece, who will arrive all the way from Oregon (USA) to answer questions&#8230;
