The new feature Jaffa (Kalat Hayam), directed by Keren Yedaya, is screened, since last Saturday, in cinema’s all over Israel.
It is Keren’s second feature. In this melodrama Mali Wolf , a Jewish girl has an secret affair with Toufik, an Arab boy from Jaffa. Mali is pregenant and they intend to go to Cyprus and get married… The plan is disrupted and the story starts to unfold… The main-cast in this powerfull drama are: Dany Ivgy, Moni Moshonov, Ronit Elkabetz, Mahmoud Shalaby, Lily Ivgy and Hussein Mahaine.
The film reminds me of the French new wave movies in the 1970s…
