June 18th, 2009 | 5 Comments
Spencer Tunick, born on January 1st 1967, is the American ‘nude people installation’ artist with, until now, more then 70 of his art-projects worlwide (Dublin, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Rome, London, Helsinki, Maine, Barcelona, etc.) His art-projects are involving sometimes more then 18.000 nude people.
Ari Fruchter, Board member of The Tel Aviv Museum of Art, started a few weeks ago an action (on Facebook) called: ‘Bring Spencer Tunick to Israel’ .
He wrote:
“Help make history in Israel and prove the sceptics wrong by showing that Israeli’s are open minded and free…” and: “We’re organizing a large scale photo installation in Israel for Spencer Tunick, along with a documentary (‘Naked Israel’) and a museum exhibition.”
Yes, let’s prove it!!! As a Facebook-member sign in as a fan of: ‘Bring Spencer Tunick to Israel!!”
Soon we will have more information.

Open and free mind or just bad taste???Since when nude pictures became a symbol for open mind and free spirit (The middle and old ages where very free and open if thats the case). I hope that Israel and TA among it will show its liberal and free thinking in more seriouse and significant issues first, dont you??;-))))
Bad Taste? Were do you live??This is ONE of the many Art issues in Tel-Aviv..Since when is nude a "bad taste"??What you call more serious?..just SLOGANS,Michal? More Yeshivots??If you attack something ,don't talk in slogans and try to explain "your" more serious and significant issues!Love to know them…
Well my friend, art is a matter of taste, isnt it???This is the part when free and open mind enters (We should, probably, not go to museums together;-) . I dont see the beuty in thousands of nude people (not all of them beautiful) As much as i dont see the beauty in torn jeans in a frame thet you might find in Galleries today…. And yes!!!! many other issues that we can show more liberal, open, creative thinking : Minorities, Human rights, Education, Vilolance…do i need to continue?
Ah………….."not all of them beautiful"….I "see" your "problem" now;-)………..Who is saying that by showing Art,you can t talk about Human rights( about 'Human Rights" in Israel,I can talk hours with you!!),Education ? And what has Violence to do with this issue??
Untill now i didnt know i had a "proble";-) These are all issues that are the causes or that we in Israel show lack of tolerance, open and uncreative mind (I can write a full essay on it but i dont think this the place or that you can pay me enough;-)))
