An amazing piece of theatre

'Etty' in Tel Aviv / © Tel Aviv Fever
I just came back from an incredible evening: A play, video-art performance done by students of Studio Nissan Nativ (Jerusalem): ‘The Girl Who Could Not Kneel’ based on the diares of Etty Hillesum (see our item about ‘Etty’).

Etty was played in Europe (Italy, France, Netherlands) by solo-actresses; here in Tel Aviv there were moments that more then 15 characters from her diaries were on stage in a two hour splended performance. But the most fantastic and incredible by the directors was… to put 3 (!) Etty’s on stage, so it was more easy and clear for the directors (they had more space) to show and tell the inner-thoughts of Etty and what she was (is) all about.
For everybody who loves theatre, this play about Etty Hillesum is a must!!
